June 2023 – The Winners of the 2022/23 season were : Div 1 Croydon Shield – West Wickham, Div 2 The Martin Cath Trophy – Coulsdon, Div 3 The Dave Luckin Trophy – Coulsdon, Div 4 The Dric Cox Trophy – South Norwood Chess Club Petts Wood & Orpington won the David Hodgson Rapidplay Trophy.

The 2021/22 Season finished with Streatham winning the Div 1 Croydon Shield. West Wickham winning the Div 2 Martin Cath Trophy. Coulsdon Chess Club winning the Div 3 Dave Luckin Trophy. Nov 2021… The league had been suspended with around half the games played and it has been decided not to finish the season and not to present trophies for 2019/20.  The league will restart with the 2021/22 Season but will not be holding the Bielski Cup or Trost Trophy this year.  

March 2020… Coronavirus – suspension of the league. The league’s senior officers have taken the decision to suspend league competitions until further notice.

June 2019… The Trost Trophy was held on 10 June at Crystal Palace CC. Jude Ranga came first with 8/9 (Jude also won last year and the year before). Second was Samuel Barlerin (7.5/9). And in third place was Maciek Smolnicki (7/9).Thanks to David Hodgson and Crystal Palace for organising and hosting.

March 2019… The Bielski Cup was held on 1 March at CCF. 16 four-board teams competed in two sections of blitz chess – 650-and-under (10 teams, single round-robin) and 400-and-under (6 teams, double round-robin). May 2018… The Trost Trophy was held on 7 May at Crystal Palace CC. Jude Ranga came first with 7.5/9 (Jude also won last year). Second was Harry Morgan (6.5/9). April 2018… The Bielski Cup was held on 6 April at CCF. 15 4-board teams (a record in recent times at least) competed in 10 rounds of blitz chess. Chipstead Valley ran out winners with 33.5/40 game points ahead of Crystal Palace (25.5 points). The grading prize – for the best-placed team with a total grade…

June 2017… The Trost Trophy was held on 12 June at Crystal Palace CC. Jude Ranga ran out winner with 8/9. Second was Jon Griffiths with 7.5 and Joel Newman was third with 6.5. The grading prize was won by Cem Oyvat with 5.5.Thanks to David Hodgson and Crystal Palace for organising and hosting.
